Seal Hi-Rise Resident Council Minutes

February 15, 2011


Meeting Called to Order: President Vu Dang called the meeting to order at 6:35 P.M on October 13, 2010. Officers Vu Dang, Bonnie Reynolds, Melissa Pappas, William McAndrews and Daniel Sarasti in attendance.

Reports

Reading of Minutes: The January minutes were read by resident Edward Eubanks. They were accepted as read.

Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer’s Report was read by Melissa Pappas. The balance is $1,539.77 and the report will be filed for audit.

Manager’s Report : There was no managers Report.

Computer Committee: A discussion was held regarding the status of the printers. Melissa stated that the ink cartridges are being quickly exhausted but there is very little in donation money being brought in to pay for it. Bonnie Reynolds made a motion to move the printer to the Council office. Melissa seconded. Motion carried. A notice will be posted stating the change and the date it will become effective.

Bill McAndrews suggested that computers be equipped with VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) so that students can can make free overseas calls. Melissa said the issue will be discussed by Computer Committee.

Kitchen Committee: Things are going fine.

Vending Committee: Laurie Stolarcyzk said C&S Vending replied to the committee’s Request for Proposal and asked for a date to make a presentation before the resident council. Discussion followed and it was decided to have C&S make its presentation to the committee and that a notice will be posted inviting interested residents.

Entertainment Committee: Bonnie Reynolds made announcement that Bengo would be moved to Saturdays at 2 pm starting on May 5th.

The Saint Patrick’s Day Party will be held on Saturday, April 19th at 4 pm (following Bengo) Pat Kramer made motion that Council provide cake, ice cream, and coffee for event. Bill McAndrews seconded. Motion carried. Further discussion followed and it was decided to make the party a potluck affair . Bill McAndrews donated $20 toward expenses and Edward Eubanks will be responsible for providing and baking roasted chickens.

President’s Council Report: There was no president’s report.

New Business

Council meeting date: Edward Eubanks made a motion to change the bylaws so that the Council meeting will be held the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm. Laurie Stolarcyzk seconded. Motion carried.

Residents’ Concerns: The topics of pet droppings on the sidewalks and the dirty conditions of the hallways was discussed. Residents were informed that Hi-Rise management has posted notices explaining building policy and that residents found in violation of this policy are subject to eviction.

Closing Rituals

Dime a Time was won by Bonnie Reynolds. Pat Kramer won the door prize. Meeting adjourned at 7:25 pm.
