Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:50

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Secretary’s Report

The minutes from the May meeting were read.

There were no changes or additions.

Treasurer’s Report

Melissa gave the financial report.

It will be filed for annual review.

Total in all funds at the end of May is $1181.42

Presidents Council Report

People from the FCC will be here to help residents get ready for the digital TV changeover.

Having a dedication for the peace pole was suggested. Jesse Thomas from the peer advisors wants to take some pictures and residents will be interviewed. We need to decide if we want to keep the pole inside or not. There would be a cost involved with getting it put in concrete if we move it outside.

The picnic will take place on Saturday, June 27th. A $5.00 reservation fee is requested if you are going to attend. See Melissa Pappas to sign up and pay that fee. You will receive a receipt that you need to get on the bus and to get your $5.00 back at the picnic. Deadline for sign up is June 12th.

PHA Report

Manager was not in attendance.

Old Business

Getting a new flag is being looked into. Lauree found some good ones at Menard's.

We are looking for a durable flag. Prices range from $20-$70.

Bonnie made a motion to buy the $70 flag. Kristi seconded.

Ed asked to amend the motion to include getting more information first.

Nothing new on the bench yet.

The contract with the vendor is up for renewal soon.

Do we want to get a machine with refrigerated items? This will have to be discussed with the vendor to see if it is a possibility.

Bonnie made a motion that we don' t change vendors. Donna seconded.

Motion carried.

The proposed changes to the bylaws were discussed.

Require a minimum of three members on the nomination committee

Lauree made a motion to accept this. Bonnie seconded.

Make president and vice president cosigners on the bank account.

Pat made a motion to accept this. Donna seconded.

Allow meetings to be held without voting on anything if a PHA representative is not present.

Bonnie made a motion to accept this. Pat seconded.

Treasurer is allowed a fund of $150 for cumulative unexpected expenditures subject to the approval of the executive board.

Elena made a motion to accept this. Donna seconded.

The entertainment chair will plan quarterly not monthly birthday parties

Bonnie made a motion to accept this. Kathy seconded.

Pool table reference removed.

Pat made a motion to accept this. Donna seconded.

RAP cook reference removed from Holiday party information.

Elena made a motion to accept this. Donna seconded.

Laundry rooms are open 24 hours at board discretion.

Pat made a motion to accept this. Bonnie seconded.

If you are not there within a few minutes of your load finishing your clothes may be removed and carefully put in a dryer or a clean washer.

Elena made a motion to accept this. Bonnie seconded.

Contracts should be under the name of the Seal Hi-Rise residents council.

Two people should be listed on the contract. They should be voted on by the council.

Bonnie made a motion to accept this and Elena seconded.

New Business

Options for weekly transportation to a grocery store are being looked into.

The Food For Health distribution is on the 4th Tuesday of the month now.

Someone had a cake stolen from the refrigerator recently. Someone also tried to break into the storage room.

Having the kitchen closed was suggested.

Rumors and gossip are still a problem.

Elections

Election judge- Judy Martin

There is space for write-ins on the ballot.

There is a sixth officer on the ballot this year.

Nominations were closed.

New officers:

President: Guy Davis

Vice President: Lauree Stolarczyk

Secretary: Elena Gregorio

Officers at Large: Rosie Leisze

Treasurer: Melissa Pappas

Sixth Officer: Daniel Sarasti

The new officers were sworn in by Judy Martin.

The memorandum of Understanding was read.

Bonnie made a motion that we accept the MOU as read. Elena seconded.

Reminders

Ice cream social fundraiser on June 20th.

Picnic on June 27th. (At Phalen park.)

Rosie Leisze won the dime-a-time.

Ed Eubanks won the door prize.
