Seal Resident Council Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, June 9, 2010

========================================================================

At 6:48 PM, the meeting was called to order, and pledge of
allegiance was recited.

------------------------------------
6:49 PM:

Pro Tem Secretary Vu Dang read the meeting minutes. The minutes were
filed as read.

------------------------------------
6:56 PM:

Melissa, the treasurer, gave the treasurer's report. The ending
balance was $1,485.19.
Discussion was over the modem fees.
Ana suggested that we get residents to the Como Park with the
remaining portion of our budget.

========================================================================

Ana delivered the Manager's Report as follows:

------------------------------------
7:05 PM:

- Inspections are going well.
- If I haven't gotten to your floors yet, make sure you're cleaning
your stuff well, including refrigerators and outlets.
- If you have any maintenance problems to be addressed, or if it's even
just one cockroach or ant, let me know.
- In some of the hallways, people are leaving liquids behind. If you
happen to spill something in the hallways, please clean it up
- The leases are done.
- When we do the parking lot sweep, we are contracting that, and it
costs a lot of money, and I feel really bad about it, but we had to tow
two cars.
- As far as I know, this is the only building where there isn't a lot
of construction
- Income review starts in October. Start thinking about getting your
financial documents together. There will be a new sheet. It's going to
have questions about income, assets, and medical expenses that need to
be filled out prior to the interview.

------------------------------------
7:14 PM:

The officer in residence was absent

========================================================================

Lauree gave the committee reports as follows:

------------------------------------
7:15 PM:

Events:
Peace Pole dedication went well, with photos on the bulletin board,
and a letter from Betty McCollum.

Newsletter:
Set to occur by the end of the month.

Garden:
We are getting $100 instead of $150 from RPC.

The All High-Rise Picnic is set to occur on June 26th, 2010. Give
Melissa $5 for a receipt, which will be refunded at the picnic. There
will be prizes, caricature artists, and so on.

------------------------------------
7:21 PM:

President council report:
Nothing to report to the council.

========================================================================

New Business:

------------------------------------
7:21 PM:

We are unsure of the status of the bench.
Ana said: "We're not going to install it. We were told that we don't
do that. I had to go back into the history of the Peace Pole, and it was
agreed that maintenance would not install it. We would have to hire a
contractor, and then get maintenance to see that it was done properly. I
would assume that it is the same thing for the bench."

------------------------------------

Discussion occurred over mopping the floors -- do what you can to
prevent a fall risk, even though the union prohibits residents mopping
on the floor outside of the elevators.

------------------------------------

Resident council door decoration policy: you can use hooks to decorate
the door, but no tape or can be used.

------------------------------------
7:33 PM:

Computers:

We still need another computer administrator.
We can save $15 on wireless if we go with USFamily.net

------------------------------------
7:38 PM:

We've already had new board announcements.
New budget meeting to be announced.
Put your hoses back the way you found it.
If you see something broken, call it into maintenance.
BBQ season: grill is available in shed.

------------------------------------
7:46 PM:

Bird bath and peace pole: both use cement. We could possibly repair
the bird bath that we have and save money.

The resident council will be returning keys the manager.

Bonnie announced: as president starting in September, will be
restarting Bingo -- we'll move it to Friday at 6pm. I'm going to submit
a $30 budget for bingo.

------------------------------------
7:49 PM:

Bev: I saw rats outside. Don't throw food out there.

------------------------------------
7:51 PM:

Door Prize Winners:

Dime-a-time: Ed Eubanks
$5 Door-prize: Mickey won
Apartment Drawing: # 500

------------------------------------

Bonnie will be providing treats in September.

========================================================================

The meeting adjourned at 7:53 PM
