Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:30.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Secretary’s Report

The minutes from the February meeting were read.

There were no changes or additions.

Treasurer’s Report

$1869.56 in checking.

Report filed for annual review

Presidents Council Report

Possible HUD apartment inspections in April. Apartments will be chosen randomly. Repairs should be done before then because poor inspection results reflect badly on the building and could result in us losing money.

The Presidents Council executive board is in need of a secretary. Contact Vu if interested. Volunteers are also needed for the picnic committee. Talk to Vu about that as well.

PHA Report

Ana Matos gave the report.

Housekeeping inspections will be beginning again in April.

Resident Officer report:

There have been problems with non-residents being let in by residents or following them in. Reminder that visitors need to buzz the person they are visiting to be let in the building.

There were several noise calls in the last month.

Reminder that guests should not be parking in the lot from 8PM to 8AM. They may park there during the day.

Sunshine Chair

Blythe Giddings recently passed away. A wake will be held on Friday, March 13th. The viewing is from 10AM to 4PM. Details are posted on the bulletin board and near the mailboxes.

Old Business

New microwave:

Vu gave a list of the prices we have found so far.

  • Microwave- $200

  • Microwave/convection oven- $500

  • Oster convection oven- $100

  • Microwave from Target- $70

Grants:

The idea of getting a new tub for the second floor tub room is still being considered. There are several concerns that need to be addressed before any decisions can be made. Who is responsible for the maintenance and installation? There are also weight considerations for a stand up tub.

The funds are still going to be applied for to be used for operating expenses. (Wi-Fi, etc.)

New Business

We are considering getting a croquet or badminton set for use in the summer.

The question of where the croquet wickets would be set up was raised. A flat area would be needed.

Costs: Anywhere from $15-30.

Getting a ping-pong table was suggested. Questions were raised about the problems that might cause. (Possibly similar to what happened with the pool table.)

Question about the use of the phone in the lobby. Is it just for calling for rides or calling the police? People are still using it for long periods of time.

People are not cleaning up after themselves after using the kitchen. Reminder that if you use it you need to clean up after yourself when you are done. Should we require locking it or requiring signing an agreement for use?

We will give it a month of close observation before any decision is made.
