Residents Council Meeting Minutes

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:40.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Secretary's Report

The minutes from the February meeting were read.

There were no changes or additions.

Treasurer's Report

Melissa gave the financial report.

It will be filed for annual review.

Total of all funds is: $2919.06

Presidents Council Report

Residents councils who have gas grills may not use them on building patios. They also may not store propane in the building.

Creative Senior Dining is an option for those over 60 who would like to have meals delivered. There are a variety of choices including ethnic and vegetarian options. There is no charge for this but donations are requested if you can afford one.

The space use agreement is being changed. There will be a $50 damage deposit and a $25 administrative charge. The $25 is not refundable. A copy of the tentative form will be available on the website.

A laser printer has been delivered. It is available for use in the office. The scanner does not work. (Because of Windows 2000. There is a needed file missing and we don't have the disk.)

Community building was discussed. Going forward it will need to be made a priority.

PHA Report

Manager not in attendance. No report.

Old Business

Computer committee:

Printer is ready to use in the office. VOIP was discussed. A survey may be done.

Vending:

M & M came on March 3rd. C & S will be coming on the 15th at 6PM. Residents are welcome to come then.

Kitchen: No problems. Less cups have been going missing

.

New Business

Picnic:

There will be no all hi-rise picnic this year. The Presidents Council will be giving us around $400 to have our own picnic.

$450- food ($9.52 a plate)

$100- entertainment

$30- door prizes

$20- decorations

Budget has to be in by April 8th.

Picnic date: July 5th.

Volunteers are needed for serving and clean-up.

There was some disagreement about whether or not we have a catered picnic. It was suggested we could do it better ourselves. It was also suggested we could do it better ourselves.

Ed made a motion we set aside $750 for a budget. Lauree seconded. Motion carried.

Bonnie made a motion that Ed be the entertainment chair and be in charge of getting everything set up for the picnic. (Caterer, entertainment, etc.) Bill seconded. Motion carried.

A nominating committee is needed.

Election date.

Monday, June 13th. 6:30PM.

Bonnie made a motion that we have the election on Monday, June 13th at 6:30PM. Barbara seconded.

Motion carried.

Volunteer appreciation.

Saturday, April 16th at 3PM.

Chinese food and cake will be served. Certificates will be given out.

The PHA is thinking about making all buildings smoke free. Resident input is asked for. We will send a letter to the committee in charge of deciding this letting them know we would like to give our input to the city council.

The St. Patrick's Day party will be on the 19th at 5PM. A sign up sheet has been posted.
