The diversity event last month went well. 12 people attended.

This month the event is on May 30. It will feature Hmong culture. Snacks will be served.

The volunteer appreciation event is on May 23 at 2:00PM. Invitations will go out this week.

The annual picnic is on June 27 from 10AM to 2PM. A sign up sheet will be going up soon.

A 4th of July barbecue is being planned. It will be a potluck. The Residents Council will provide the meat or you can bring your own.

Should we have a sixth officer? (This position is similar to Officer at Large.)

Judy Martin will be our election judge.

Bylaws revisions were read.

  • Require a minimum of three members on the nomination committee

  • Make all board members cosigners on the bank account. (Lots of discussion. Most thought this was a bad idea.)

Bonnie made a motion that we table this item until the next meeting. Rosie Seconded.

  • Allow meetings to be held without voting on anything if a PHA representative is not present.

  • Vice President will be the third signer on the checks

  • Treasurer is allowed a fund of $150 for cumulative unexpected expenditures subject to the approval of the executive board.

  • The entertainment chair will plan quarterly not monthly birthday parties

  • Chairpersons will be highly recommended to attend board meetings.

  • Pool table reference removed.

  • An extra flag needs to be budgeted for for next year

  • RAP cook reference removed from Holiday party information.

  • Laundry rooms are open 24 hours at board discretion.

  • Contracts should be under the name of the Seal Hi-Rise residents council.

  • Two people should be listed on the contract. They should be voted on by the council.

This will be voted on next month.

Several kitchen issues were brought up. The oven has been left on and clean-up has not been done. Reminder to clean up after yourself if you use the kitchen and to promptly report any problems you see.

Clutter issues were mentioned.
