Seal Hi-Rise Resident Council Minutes

October 13, 2010


Meeting Called to Order: President Bonnie Reynolds called the meeting to order at 6:35 P.M on October 13, 2010.

Announcement: Eileen Tittle from the President's Council announced Daniel Sarasti had recused himself from all Resident Council activities until January 13, 2011 when he will return with full board responsibilities.


Reports

Reading of Minutes: The September minutes were read by Edward Eubanks. They were accepted as read.

Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer’s Report was read by Melissa Pappas. The balance is $736.56 and the report will be filed for audit.

Computer Committee: The new computers are installed. Mellissa Pappas had been selected to be the sole administrator for the Resident Council computers. A request was made to install Adobe Flash onto the computers.

Kitchen Committee: Things are going fine. Pat Kramer again requested that people do not remove cups from community room.

Sunshine Committee: Rosie & Bonnie will take care of the Sunshine duties.

Garden Committee: Laurie Stolarcyzk says she will not be involved with the Garden committee in 2011.

Manager’s Report : Assistant Manager Ana New York conducted the Annual Safety Issues talk.

President’s Council Report: Bonnie Reynold's read the President's Council Report.


New Business

Approval of New Budget: The proposed budget for 2010-2011 was presented for approval after 30-day review. Pat Kramer made a motion to accept the budget as presented. Motion seconded. Budget approved.

Vending Machines: Bonnie Reynolds reported that machine vendors rejected Executive Council's proposal for a 6-month contract extension. Bonnie said the machine vendors required a one year contract or termination of service. nteers. Edward Eubanks made a motion to approve the current vending contract for one year and to form a committee to research and recommend a vendor for the 2011-12 contract year. Motion seconded. Approved..

Additional Cash: Because the President's Council negotiated a project-wide contract with Comcast for Wi-Fi, Seal Hi-Rise will save up to $60 a month in budgeted Wi-Fi expenses. A discussion was began to decide what to do with the freed monies. There were proposals to add additional money to that allocated for the Christmas party and to allocate money toward the purchase of security cameras or TV cabinets in the Community Room. Vu Dang stated that PHA was looking into installing a bench on the west walkway and that the Council need not allocate funds for that. Vu encouraged council members to think about what they would like to use the money for and that the matter would be taken up in a future meeting.


Closing Rituals

Dime a Time was won by Bonnie Reynolds. Rosie Leisze won the door prize. Meeting adjourned at 7:50
